The amount of duties for countries that have not reached a trade agreement with the United States will range from 15% to 20%. This was announced on July 28 by US President Donald Trump during a press conference in Scotland.

"I would say that they (duties. — Ed.) will be somewhere between 15% and 20%," the CBS News channel reports Trump's words.

According to the American leader, the United States has 200 trade agreements with other countries, there are too many of them to conclude separate trade agreements with all of them. He added that for this reason, the US would apply "simple" duties to "most" countries.

It is added that the deadline set by the Trump administration for concluding trade agreements with the United States and other countries will come on August 1.

Earlier in the day, the United States and the European Union (EU) agreed on a trade deal. The agreement will allow the EU to avoid 30% duties that could be imposed by Washington. As a result of the deal, the European Union remains with 15% tariffs on most of its exports, including cars. American goods will be delivered to the European market with a zero duty rate.

Trump stressed that such an agreement "satisfies both sides."

On July 12, before the agreement was reached, the American leader announced US plans to impose 30% duties on goods from the European Union from August 1, 2025. He added that duties will not be imposed if the EU or its companies decide to manufacture products in the United States.
