Cases of the new coronavirus infection in adolescents are being investigated at the branch of the Obukhovsky sanatorium in Nizhny Sergy. This was announced on July 28 by the Rospotrebnadzor of the Sverdlovsk region.

"In the period from July 25 to July 27, 2025, nine cases of new coronavirus infection were registered among vacationers at the Obukhovsky Sanatorium (Nizhny Sergi branch). The patients are children 10-15 years old, they are hospitalized, they are receiving the necessary medical care," the department's Telegram channel says.

In connection with the incident, Rospotrebnadzor is conducting an epidemiological investigation. It includes sampling for laboratory tests and assessment of compliance with the requirements of sanitary legislation. In addition, the agency issued an order to carry out additional anti-epidemic measures, including disinfection.

Rospotrebnadzor also noted that quarantine measures were introduced in the detachments to prevent the spread of the disease, and a separate meal was organized. In addition, mass events were canceled at the sanatorium. Medical supervision was established for contact children and adults.

"Due to the situation, the shift ended ahead of schedule — on July 28, 2025. The situation is under control," Rospotrebnadzor said.
