In Germany, in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, as a result of a train derailment of two cars of a Deutsche Bahn regional train, three people were killed and about 50 injured. According to the Bild newspaper on July 28, about 25 of them were seriously injured.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, at about 18:10 (19:10 Moscow time) near the town of Riedlingen. There were about 100 people in the train en route from Sigmaringen to Ulm at the time of the accident.

Two of the three victims were employees of the Deutsche Bahn railway company, one of them was a train driver.

According to the police, the cause of the disaster is a landslide. Train traffic on the specified section is currently suspended.

"Presumably, due to the heavy rains that were observed in the area of the incident, one of the sewer shafts was overflowing. The water caused the ground to descend from the slope to the track, which, in turn, led to the derailment of the train," the Baden—Wuerttemberg police said in a statement.

A train derailment in southwestern Germany became known the day before. It was noted that part of the train was lying on its side, and the roof of one car was severely damaged. It was later reported that three people were killed when the train derailed.
