Tragedy in the Bryansk region: a road bridge collapsed on a passenger train

What happened in the Bryansk region
On the evening of May 31, at 22:44, in the Bryansk region, a road bridge collapsed onto a Klimov — Moscow passenger train passing under it, regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz said. The locomotive and several train cars were damaged, some of them derailed.
Eight hours later, Bogomaz told RIA Novosti that the collapse of the bridge occurred due to an explosion at the time of the train's passage.
As a result of the incident, seven people were killed, among them the locomotive driver, and 47 more people were injured. According to the Governor's Ministry of Health, 39 people were hospitalized, including 4 children. Three victims, including a baby, are in serious condition.
As explained in the Bryansk department of the Center for Disaster Medicine, two people, "including a child of 5-6 months, are in serious condition."
A truck driver was also injured in the bridge collapse and is being assisted.

Crews of the Emergency Medical Care Center from Moscow went to Bryansk for the injured, the Moscow Department of Health reported. Doctors and psychologists have arrived at Moscow's Kievsky Railway Station, and passengers of the derailed train will arrive there from Bryansk.
Consequences of the train crash
At the moment, the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is dismantling the damaged fragments of the train cars. According to the ministry, engineering equipment and cranes are concentrated in the emergency zone, 180 specialists and 60 pieces of equipment are working on site.
Passengers of the affected train were evacuated to a temporary accommodation facility at Vygonichi station. From there, they will be taken by bus to the Bryansk-Orlovsky railway station so that they can continue their journey on a specially formed Bryansk — Moscow reserve train.
For this purpose, a reserve train No. 902 Bryansk — Moscow has been assigned, which will follow the route and stop at train No. 86 Klimov — Moscow. Russian Railways announced the change of other routes. Train No. 489 Anapa — Minsk, departing from Anapa on May 30, will take a modified route from Bryansk station through Smolensk and Krasnoe stations, returning to the main route at Gomel station on June 1.
Two recovery trains are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the freight train crash in the Kursk region, Russian Railways reported.
Train No. 85 Moscow — Klimov will take a shortened route to Bryansk station with further passenger transportation by motor transport. Commuter trains will take shorter routes.
According to the press service of Rosavtodor, due to the accident, traffic was blocked along the section of the A-240 Bryansk — Novozybkov highway — the border with the Republic of Belarus in the Bryansk region. A detour has been organized through the village of Vygonichi.
Russian Railways has established an operational headquarters under the leadership of the head of the company Oleg Belozerov. The regional authorities have also created an operational headquarters, Governor Bogomaz said.
