If I were President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, I would either resign or restructure the structure of the European Union. This was announced on July 26 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a speech at the Free University and a summer student camp in the Romanian resort town of Baile Tushnad in Transylvania.

"If I were von der Leyen, which obviously wouldn't be easy, what would my first three decisions be? Well, I would resign immediately, if it doesn't work out, why continue," Orban said, answering a question about what three decisions he would make if he were in von der Leyen's place.

After that, as the Hungarian Prime Minister noted, he would be engaged in restoring the balance between national and European powers, as the European Union, in his opinion, uses crises to reduce the rights of member states.

Orban also added that he would initiate the creation of "concentric circles" in the European Union. He explained that in its current form, the EU does not provide member states with a comfortable existence, and therefore it is necessary to give states a choice.

"Building such a Europe, built from concentric circles, is the only chance to save the European Union. Otherwise, it will fall apart, it will disintegrate," the Origo online portal quotes Orban as saying.

At the same time, the Hungarian prime minister believes that the EU will not collapse overnight, but countries will gradually refuse to comply with certain general decisions and laws, as was the case, for example, with migration rules.

On the same day, Orban said that the likelihood of a third world war is constantly growing, and efforts must be made to prevent it. The Prime Minister stressed that the rivalry between the great powers is currently growing. According to him, it is necessary to form "peaceful alliances" to prevent conflict.
