An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred in the east of Kazakhstan. This was announced on July 23 on the website of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to the organization, the seismic event occurred 81 km south of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The epicenter of the earthquake is located at a depth of 10 km.

Earlier in the day, EMSC reported a magnitude 5.5 earthquake on the island of Seram in Indonesia. The seismic event occurred 155 km from the city of Amahai in Maluku Province at a depth of 15 km.
