The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of France, Thierry Burkar, was dismissed. This was announced on July 23 by the Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecorny.

"We express our gratitude to Army General Thierry Burcar, who held the highest position of chief of the General Staff of the French Defense for four years," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Lecornoux noted his clear strategic vision of the threats and his continued commitment to adapting the French Armed Forces to counter them.

It is specified that General of the French Air Force Fabien Mandon will take Burkar's position.

On July 21, the French edition of Le Figaro, citing an IFOP/JDD poll, reported that French President Emmanuel Macron and French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou form the most unpopular tandem in the country. It is noted that only 19% of French people are satisfied with the president's work, while the approval rating of the country's prime minister was 18%. Thus, the level of cumulative support for this political pair was 37%.
