The former VW plant in Kaluga has completed the preparation of the paint shop for the production of Tenet

At the AGR Holding plant in Kaluga, where Volkswagen cars were previously manufactured, the preparation of the paint shop for the serial production of cars of the new Russian brand Tenet has been completed. In the near future, the company will begin production of full-cycle machines, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on July 23.

AGR representatives said that the main work in the preparation of paint and varnish production was focused on adapting the equipment to the design features of the new car, taking into account the requirements of Russian operating conditions.

"At the moment, more than 50 pre—production bodies have been painted, all the necessary tests and measurements have been carried out, confirming that the quality of the paintwork meets the highest international standards, which indicates that the workshop is ready to switch to serial production," the company said.

Paint and varnish production includes several strictly regulated stages: pretreatment, application of cataphoretic primer, passage through one of three drying chambers, protection of the bottom and sealing of welds and rolling joints, application of secondary primer, base enamel and varnish, as well as passage through the final drying chamber and treatment of internal hidden cavities with special wax.

The day before, it was reported that the new Russian car brand Tenet will launch sales of crossovers in August this year. The first model will be the mid-size crossover Tenet T7, the launch of sales of new items is scheduled for mid-August.

On July 17, it became known that the Kaluga plant AGR Holding had completed the preparation of the welding workshop for the launch of full-cycle production of Tenet cars. The largest amount of work was carried out on redesigning the welding shop for the design features of the new car.
