Journalists began to gather at the Chiragan Palace in Istanbul, where negotiations between Russia and Ukraine may take place. This was announced by Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky on Wednesday, July 23.
According to him, the final preparations are being completed: the installation of tents where journalists will be screened, as well as a podium where cameras will be placed.
Zolotnitsky added that guards had already been posted at the entrance to the proposed meeting place.
On the same day, a source from Izvestia stated that the composition of the Russian delegation at the talks had not changed. At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expanded the composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations with Russia from 12 to 14 people.
Earlier, on July 21, Zelensky announced that the next round of talks between Moscow and Kiev is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23.
On July 22, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian-Ukrainian talks should discuss the draft memoranda that the parties exchanged during the second round. According to him, there is "a lot of work to be done" before talking about the possibility of high-level and high-level meetings between Russia and Ukraine.
