The Russian government is considering the possibility of introducing a shortened working day while maintaining full pay for the spouses of military personnel participating in a special military operation (SVO). This measure will affect only those families with underage children, Izvestia learned on July 23.

"Shortening the working day while maintaining salaries for the wives of members of the SVR, as well as for mothers with many children, is an important social policy tool aimed at supporting family, health and well-being of children," Anatoly Vyborny, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security from the United Russia faction, told Izvestia.

The initiative was proposed by a government commission led by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Support for the proposal has already been expressed by the majority of Duma factions, as well as the organization "Support of Russia".

In addition, the document mentions the need for additional payments for CBO participants who are injured, disabled or killed in the line of duty. Businesses are also invited to develop employment programs for veterans of special operations with disabilities.

Earlier, on July 22, the State Duma adopted in the final reading a law allowing widows of deceased servicemen to use their cars before inheriting. According to the document, the spouse of the deceased can drive a vehicle without the consent of other heirs, even if the car was not jointly owned.
