Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a meteorologist and specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, said that Moscow experienced a record rainfall since 1879 on July 21.

In her Telegram channel, the expert noted that heavy precipitation was recorded in Moscow from 09:00 to 12:00: 30.8 mm of precipitation fell in the Timiryazevskaya Agricultural Academy area, 32.5 mm on the MKAD-24, 39.4 mm in Konkovo, and a record 57.3 mm on Varshavskoye Highway, writes Moscow 24".

The previous precipitation record for this day was set in 2000 and was 39.5 mm, according to the Moscow City News Agency. Kolomna also recorded an excess of the previous maximum: if 28 mm fell in 2013, then 66 mm this year only overnight, the website clarifies. kp.ru .

Prior to this, Pozdnyakova predicted that 25% of the monthly precipitation could fall in the capital over the next three days. Presumably, the rainy weather will linger in Moscow until Wednesday, but it will be quite warm: temperature fluctuations from +22 to +27 degrees are expected, notes Life.ru .

Also on July 21, against the background of precipitation, drivers were urged to avoid sudden maneuvers, observe the distance and speed limit, especially on ascents and descents from bridges and overpasses. Due to the worsening weather conditions, traffic was temporarily blocked on some roads of the capital, writes RT.

On the same day, Roscosmos showed bad weather over Moscow. It is noted that July 21 has not been so rainy for 146 years.
