Kamchatka has experienced two more earthquakes in a row, and five seismic events have been registered. The relevant information was published on July 20 in the Telegram channel of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The magnitude of the fourth earthquake today was 6.8, and the second was 6.4.
According to experts, the epicenters were located 166-167 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Izvestia has footage from the locations affected by the wave of the seismological event. So, in one of the apartment buildings caught on video, strong tremors are noticeable, provoking jumps in small pieces of furniture and decor. In local shops, goods fell from the windows, and a large lamp also fell from the ceiling in one of the buildings.
"We had an earthquake. This means that while the fire departments are going through social facilities for a review of the destruction. Previously, no serious ones have been identified so far. A tsunami threat has been announced," said Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory.
He urged residents of the region to stay away from the water. According to him, the wave is expected to be small.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory reported three earthquakes of different magnitudes recorded in the region. The largest of the seismic events turned out to be magnitude 7.6.
