Yerevan has received a proposal from Washington to manage a transport corridor between the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was confirmed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on July 16.

"The United States is interested in outsourcing roads, and the Armenian side is also interested in their approach. Not only the United States is interested, but also the EU," Sputnik Armenia quotes Pashinyan as saying.

He also confirmed that at this stage, the option proposed by the United States of outsourcing the road through the Syunik region through an American company is being actively discussed. The Armenian Prime Minister added that there is no agreement on this issue yet.

Earlier on July 14, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack announced his readiness to manage the Zangezur Corridor for 100 years. The Zangezur corridor should provide an overland connection between Azerbaijan and its exclave of Nakhichevan.
