An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred off the Philippine Islands in the Pacific Ocean. This was announced on July 15 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

It is specified that the seismic event was registered at 02:38 UTC (05:38 Moscow time), and its epicenter was located 9 km southeast of the city of Laoag with a population of more than 100 thousand people. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 49 km.

There was no information about casualties, damage, or the threat of a tsunami.
