In August, pensions will be increased for two categories of Russians. We are talking about those who continued to work after retiring, as well as those who celebrated their 80th birthday in July. Olga Epifanova, a member of the Federation Council and an expert at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), announced this on Monday, July 14.

She noted that the next recalculation of insurance pensions for citizens who continue to work after retirement will be carried out in Russia at the beginning of August this year.

"The amount of the increase depends on the number of pension points accumulated in 2024. To receive this supplement, you do not need to submit an application — all changes are calculated automatically," the senator explained in an interview with aif.ru .

Epifanova added that from August, elderly Russians who turned 80 in July will also automatically receive a doubled fixed portion of their old-age pension. This year, this amount is 17,815.40 rubles per month.

"In addition, pensioners over the age of 80 are entitled to an additional payment for care in the amount of 1,314 rubles, as well as additional payments for dependents, who are appointed if the pensioner has disabled immediate relatives (children, grandchildren before adulthood or completion of full—time studies at a university, spouses of retirement age, disabled people)," she said. The senator clarified that the amount of payments for dependents is 2,969 rubles each, but not more than three.

Earlier that day, Nikita Chaplin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, explained in a conversation with RT how pensions are paid when changing places of residence.

The MP noted that the pension will be paid in the same manner, regardless of moving to another city or region. However, it is necessary to promptly notify the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) of the new address in order to avoid delays or errors. 360.ru .

In turn, State Duma Deputy Sergei Gavrilov clarified on July 12 that from August 1, those Russians who received the first disability group or quit their jobs this month will also receive an increased pension.

Earlier, on June 20, Chairman of the Social Fund of Russia Sergey Chirkov announced an increase in pensions for working pensioners. According to him, after leaving work, payments will be equal to those provided for non-working pensioners.

In April, the government of the Russian Federation announced that in 2026, the indexation of insurance pensions will be carried out twice a year: from February 1 according to the level of inflation over the past year and additionally from April 1 according to the level of income growth of the Social Fund, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
