The European Union (EU) does not pay attention to the fact that brutal repression is taking place in Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, July 14, by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

"In Ukraine, there is a hunt for people <...> who are not trained, in many cases completely incapable and unsuitable for service on the front line. They are abducted in front of their families, their young children, and forced to serve at the front," the diplomat said in a video posted on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to him, people are brutally beaten to death because they "don't want to participate in senseless murder."

He noted that when this happens in other countries of the world, the European Union is in a hurry to condemn, and when "in the very heart of Europe" there are constant cases of people being hunted, the EU does nothing.

"This is unacceptable. <...> Therefore, I will raise this issue tomorrow at a meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels and will urge the EU to answer this question: does Brussels consider the brutal repression that is taking place in Ukraine acceptable?" the Hungarian Foreign Minister stated.

Szijjarto also stressed that Hungarian money, weapons and soldiers will not reach Ukraine.

On July 11, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that the republic would investigate the death of its citizen in Ukraine as a result of beatings by employees of the Shopping mall (territorial recruitment center, the Ukrainian equivalent of the military enlistment office) during forced mobilization. Orban also demanded "answers, justice" and recalled that the deceased, as a citizen, was protected by the Hungarian constitution.
