The United States wants to use more than just the interest from Russia's frozen assets to help Ukraine. This was announced on July 14 by Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (listed on the Russian list of terrorists and extremists) in an interview with CBS News.

"I don't want to get ahead of the president, but stay tuned about the frozen assets. The Europeans want to limit themselves to transferring income from these assets to Ukraine. Secretary [of the Treasury Scott] Bessant wants to go further," he said.

In addition, according to Graham, the United States intends to sell Europe a large number of weapons. In turn, the US Congress may soon adopt "the most significant package of sanctions in the history of the United States," which will provide President Donald Trump with "unprecedented leverage." These measures will apply to China, India and Brazil, the senator noted.

Earlier, on July 12, CBS News, citing diplomatic sources, said that US President Donald Trump may provide funding to Kiev for the first time. It is specified that such assistance may be provided to Ukraine in order to "send a signal" to Russia.
