- A survey in the United States showed a further drop in the rating of the Democratic Party
Voter confidence in the US Democratic Party continues to fall — among Latinos, white men and representatives of the working class, it has already dropped below 35%. This was reported on July 12 by The Hill, citing a survey conducted by Unite the Country from May to June.
It is noted that many voters perceive the Democratic Party as "detached from reality" and "weak."
"This is the truth about the perception of us as a party, and until we admit it, it will be difficult to move forward," said Rodell Mollino, senior adviser to the Democratic political action committee.
According to him, this opinion about the party is ingrained not only among supporters of the MAGA movement (English: Make America Great Again — "Let's return America to its former greatness"), but also among "those who should" support the Democratic Party. The poll showed that the party's main focus on the fight for democracy will no longer attract the attention of the electorate, and the soft immigration policy even "scares away" voters.
The authors of the article emphasize that the Democrats still feel "depressed and confused" after the crushing defeat in the November 2024 elections.
On July 4, a survey by Quantus Insights showed that about 40% of Americans supported the idea of the party of billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk. It is noted that such an idea of the businessman caused a positive response, especially among young voters and male Republicans.
