Rubio announced the imposition of sanctions against Cuba's top officials
State Department (Department of State) The United States has imposed sanctions on Cuba's top government officials and Cuban businesses for their role in the alleged mistreatment of the country's citizens. This was announced on July 11 by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"Four years after the brutal suppression of protesters by the Cuban regime, the US State Department restricts the issuance of visas to figureheads of the Cuban regime, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, Lopez Miera, Alvarez Casas and their henchmen for their role in the cruelty of the Cuban regime towards the Cuban people," he wrote on the social network X.
Rubio noted that the US State Department will prevent the financing of repression of Cuban residents with American dollars.
Earlier in the day, Rubio called on NATO to transfer US weapons from its reserves to Ukraine. According to the head of the State Department, NATO member countries have certain weapons systems that Ukraine needs.
