- Former British Prime Minister Johnson called Macron a beneficiary of the migration crisis
The main beneficiary of the migration crisis in the United Kingdom is French President Emmanuel Macron. This was stated on July 11 by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in his article for the Daily Mail newspaper.
The politician noted that in 2025, the number of migrants arriving in the UK increased by 40% compared to last year. According to Johnson, it is the French leader who benefits from this situation, and he is the main beneficiary of it.
"What evil genius is behind this daily humiliation of the British state? <...> There is one ultimate beneficiary of this whole nightmare — Emmanuel Macron from France," he said.
According to Johnson, Macron uses the migration crisis to point out the correctness of his political position about Britain's inability to control its own borders after leaving the European Union (Brexit).
Earlier, on May 12, the current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a tightening of migration policy in the country. He stressed that the number of migrants would decrease "significantly," but did not disclose the expected figures.
