Catholicos of All Armenians accused the authorities of anti-church policy
The Armenian authorities are pursuing an anti-church policy that threatens the statehood. Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II stated this on July 11.
He noted that the Armenian government is waging an anti-church campaign instead of uniting the people of the country and getting rid of the split in society.
"The campaign, which poses a serious threat to our independent statehood and the unity of our people, is a blow to the good name of our country and the Armenian Church," the Catholicos stressed. News.am .

On July 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his intention to lead a movement against the leadership of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC). He spoke harshly about the clergy, saying that "the house of Jesus Christ is occupied by an anti-national and anti-state group and must be liberated."
