The European Union (EU) is considering suspending the association agreement between Israel and the organization due to the situation around Gaza. This was reported on July 11 by the Politico newspaper with reference to the document.

"The suspension of part of the Association Agreement between the EU and Israel may be under threat due to reports that the country is violating its human rights obligations in Gaza," the material says.

According to the newspaper, the measures will mean the suspension of close ties in trade and other areas of cooperation. It is specified that this will cancel trade preferences for goods from Israel. However, as the newspaper notes, such a decision will require the consent of all member states.

In addition, the list of measures under consideration against Tel Aviv includes a ban on participation in exchange programs for students and scientists and restrictions on technical cooperation.

Earlier, on July 8, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel intends to achieve all its goals in Gaza during the armed conflict. He stressed that he is in constant contact with US President Donald Trump. According to him, this helps countries to maintain communication about the situation in Gaza.
