US President Donald Trump plans to sell weapons to NATO member countries so that they can supply them to Ukraine. This was reported on July 10 by the Axios portal, citing sources.

"The weapons that are being sent go to NATO, and then NATO is going to provide these weapons [to Ukraine], and NATO pays for these weapons," the portal quotes Trump.

As Axios noted, this is a step towards a new round of escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, the portal emphasizes that the decision of the American leader should not be equated with the intention of the United States to arm the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

It is reported that the scheme was proposed at the recent NATO summit.

Earlier, on July 8, Trump announced that the United States would transfer some defensive weapons to Ukraine. According to the American leader, it was he who approved these supplies to the Kiev regime. Later, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) called the delivery of 10 interceptor missiles for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) by the United States a stupid joke.
