The Russian Ambassador pointed out the need to take into account the purchase by London of F-35 capable nuclear weapons

Britain's purchase of American F-35 fighter jets, which are capable of carrying nuclear weapons, requires consideration from the Russian side. This was announced on July 9 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"All this needs to be taken into account in our planning regarding our counteraction to this nuclear deterrence. This once again confirms our thesis that the UK's nuclear component must necessarily be taken into account in the process of further discussing strategic stability issues," he said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The diplomat noted that Britain is currently engaged in the restoration of the air component of the nuclear deterrent, which was eliminated at the end of the Cold War. According to the Russian ambassador, this would be a "significant increase" in the United Kingdom's nuclear arsenal.

In response, Washington offers Ankara to take apart the S-400s purchased from Moscow.

Earlier, on June 24, the British government announced plans to purchase 12 new F-35A fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear weapons from the United States. It was specified that London would also join the NATO nuclear mission using dual-purpose aircraft. The British government called it a serious incentive for national security.
