Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to assess the marginality of gas stations, taking into account the mandatory costs of refueling. This was announced on Wednesday, July 9, on the government's website.

"We cannot allow a sharp rise in gasoline prices. I ask the Ministry of Energy, together with oil companies, to keep abreast of the pulse and manually balance the supply of fuel to the market in order to meet the increased consumer demand in the summer and the first months of autumn," Novak said at a meeting of the headquarters on the situation in the domestic market of petroleum products.

He clarified that it is necessary to ensure the uniform sale of fuel on the stock exchange, as well as to prevent oil companies from purchasing goods from each other on the stock exchange.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed Russian Railways to solve the problem of idle time of empty wagons after unloading the goods to ensure timely delivery of petroleum products to consumers.

According to the Ministry of Energy, prices for diesel fuel and gasoline remain stable, within the limits of inflation. All applications from farmers during the harvesting campaign are carried out according to plan.

The day before, it was reported that according to the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange, the cost of motor fuel increased sharply in price during the first summer month. From May to June, prices for AI-92 and AI-95 increased by 4.8% and 0.84%, respectively, while from June to July prices increased by 11.47% and 16.66%. It was clarified that the seasonal increase in demand and repair schedules of oil refineries have an impact on the positive dynamics of stock prices for motor fuel.
