Russian car market shows record sales for the week
In the Russian car market, the 27th week turned out to be a record sales volume in 2025. From June 30 to July 6, 28.8 thousand new passenger cars were sold, the analytical agency Autostat reported on July 7. The previous record was recorded a week earlier (25.9 thousand cars).
Analysts attributed the high car sales to the end of the second quarter. Usually, dealers strive to fulfill sales volume plans during the period, and a significant part of the cars are registered at the beginning of the next month.
"In addition, distributors and manufacturers continue to stimulate potential buyers with various marketing tools in order to reduce the accumulated stocks of cars," the experts noted.
According to the results of the 27th week, Lada cars had a market share of 23.7%. Next in this ranking are Chinese brands — Chery (11.8%), Haval (10.5%), Geely (7%) and Changan (6.8%). The second five leaders are Belarusian Belgee (5.4%), followed by Jetour (3%), Solaris (2.6%), GAC (2.6%) and Omoda (2.2%).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Russian new car market is expected to gradually recover in the second half of 2025. A return to the growth rates observed in 2024 is unlikely, but there will be a revival in demand compared to the first half of the year.
