Alexander Parkhomenko, a prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said that he was sent to a combat zone after undergoing mediocre training, while he did not have the necessary equipment and equipment. The footage was released on July 7 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"After I completed military training, we were sent to the position. Three days later, the commander, Rafik, arrived, and showed us the point where we would be located, our observation post. Me and two other brothers with me. We stayed for a full three and a half months. We don't have any medicine, it's just our first—aid kits that we took," he said.

In addition, the necessary amount of food was not delivered to the militants. They, like the water, were sent once a week. According to the prisoner of war, "a good owner treats animals better." Subsequently, the militants began to realize that they had been "simply abandoned." Sometimes it happened that there was only one bottle of water left for the three of them and there was no food at all.

"Mentally, emotionally and psychologically, we were all depressed. This is already a boiling point, and there is nothing you can do in this situation," the prisoner of war noted.

According to Parkhomenko, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are deliberately deceiving the military. So, they did not allow to keep in touch with relatives, so that the militants would not tell about the catastrophic situation in the units. The military was only told that it was not possible to get through.

Earlier, on June 25, Anton Oleksenko, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told how ordinary servicemen were deceived by the command and about their attempts to defect. The man also noted that he was picked up by employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) when he was walking down the street.
