Ukraine is begging Germany for weapons worth several billion euros. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on July 6.

"According to reports, the Ukrainian government, led by President Vladimir Zelensky, is interested in four new Iris-T missile systems. It requests from Berlin a total of 1.5 thousand guided missiles for the medium-range system Iris-T SLM and 500 guided missiles for the short-range system Iris-T SLS. In addition, it will supply 200,000 rounds of 40 mm anti—aircraft ammunition to combat Russian drones," the publication says.

It clarifies that the weapons on the list are divided into three categories: air defense, protected vehicles and electronic warfare. For Germany, Kiev's requests will amount to billions of euros. The German government has already reviewed the list.

The Tagesspiegel newspaper, citing military expert Gustav Gressel, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have run out of missiles for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). It was clarified that the German government is trying to purchase two Patriot systems from the United States for Ukraine, but there is no exact solution on this issue.
