An attack on a merchant ship off the coast of Yemen was reported in Britain.

A merchant ship was attacked off the coast of Yemen. This was announced on July 6 by the UK Maritime Trade Authority (UKMTO).
It is specified that the incident occurred 51 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah. The attack was carried out by several small vessels, which opened fire with small arms and hand grenade launchers.
Later, the UKMTO clarified that the crew had abandoned the ship damaged during the shelling.
"The UKMTO has received confirmation from the company's security officer that the entire crew has left the ship and is awaiting assistance," the statement said.
On April 15, the UKMTO reported a maritime incident off the coast of Yemen, during which a British vessel was chased by unknown assailants. After that, the captain decided to change course towards the coast of Yemen. Subsequently, the attackers stopped chasing the ship.
