The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced toxic negotiations with the West on joining NATO

Ukraine's discussion with Western leaders about its accession to NATO has become toxic. This was announced on July 5 by the representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tikhy.

"This is the problem with the discussion about Ukraine's membership in NATO, it has become, in simple terms, very toxic. All the arguments are given, all the counterarguments are given, and each new round of conversation <...> he goes on the same path," he said in an interview with journalist Alexander Notevsky, which was published on his YouTube channel.

Tikhy stressed that Kiev's negotiations with Western countries "have turned into an absolutely toxic discussion."

There is no wording about the inevitability of Kiev's joining the alliance in the communique of its summit, but this is not enough for Russia.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced on June 25 that Ukraine would not join NATO as long as Donald Trump was president of the United States. He added that in the long term, Ukraine's accession to the alliance may become possible.
