The State Arbitration Court of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in North Rhine–Westphalia has expelled Bundestag deputy Matthias Helferich from the party for his Nazi views. This was reported on July 5 by the German magazine Focus.

It is reported that in 2021, messages from a chat in which Helferich called himself a "Nazi-friendly person" and also broadcast right-wing radical views became publicly available.

Then, after the 2021 federal elections, he was not included in the AfD parliamentary group, but they decided to give the 36-year-old the opportunity to participate in the elections this year.

In May last year, the Hamburg parliament expelled AFD deputy Olga Petersen from its membership, who said that the election and voting process in Russia was "open and free."
