The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have run out of missiles for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). This was reported on July 5 by the Tagesspiegel newspaper, citing military expert Gustav Gressel.

"The Ukrainian stocks of Patriot missiles have already been depleted <...>. Neither Europe nor Germany have been able to compensate for the lost supplies from the United States," the publication quotes Gressel.

According to the expert, these missiles are of great importance for the military industry of Ukraine, as it is on them that Kiev's ability to maintain the line of contact depends. It is added that the German government is currently trying to purchase two Patriot systems from the United States for Ukraine, but there is no exact solution to this issue after the suspension of assistance by the President of the United States Donald Trump.

On July 2, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth announced that he had decided to suspend the supply of dozens of interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 100 Hellfire missiles, dozens of Stinger missiles, more than 250 GMLRS guided precision projectiles and other types of weapons to Ukraine. It was clarified that the suspension may last until the assessment of American weapons is completed.

On July 3, it was reported that Germany plans to conclude a deal with the United States to finance two Patriot air defense systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A corresponding request from Germany was sent several weeks ago on the initiative of Kiev after its unsuccessful attempts to conclude this deal on its own.
