The Russian State Duma (State Duma) has proposed reducing the time for attachment to a polyclinic from one year to three months. The corresponding bill was developed by the head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov.

He noted that the current legislation restricts the choice of a medical institution, which can lead to an inefficient distribution of the burden on polyclinics. According to Nilov, the initiative will increase the availability of medical care.

"Increasing the frequency of attachment will allow citizens to choose more convenient and affordable medical facilities, which, in turn, will improve the quality of care," TASS writes with reference to the available documents.

In January, Anton Orlov, director of the Institute for the Study of Modern Politics, appealed to the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Ministry of Labor with an initiative to oblige employers to purchase a voluntary health insurance policy (VMI) for their employees. According to him, the health status of employees has a significant impact on labor productivity.
