- Japanese authorities urged not to believe prophecies of disaster after a series of earthquakes

The Japanese government has warned of possible new strong earthquakes in the waters southwest of the main islands of the archipelago on which the state is located, but urged the public not to believe rumors of a major disaster caused by the disaster predicted in the manga by Ryo Tatsuki. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 5.
"The earthquake on Thursday [July 3] — strong enough to stay on its feet — was one of more than 1,000 tremors over the past two weeks on the islands of Kagoshima Prefecture, which gave rise to rumors that arose due to a prediction in the comics that a major disaster would befall the country this month," writes Reuters.
We are talking about the manga by the Japanese author Ryo Tatsuki "The Future I Saw". At the same time, some fans take his "predictions" seriously, since several of Tatsuki's predictions, as fans believe, have already come true. So, in a series of these publications, the earthquake and tsunami of 2011 in northeastern Japan were "predicted", after which about 20 thousand people died or went missing and which triggered the nuclear disaster at Fukushima.
Ayataka Ebita, Director of the Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring Department at the Japan Meteorological Agency, said that modern scientific knowledge does not allow to accurately determine the exact time, place or scale of earthquakes.
"We ask people to base their understanding on scientific evidence," Ebita was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Earlier in the day, representatives of the Meteorological Agency of Japan reported that from July 21 to the present, more than 1.3 thousand earthquakes of varying intensity have been recorded near the Japanese Tokara Islands. The last of them, with a magnitude of 5.4— occurred on Saturday morning, July 5 at 06.29 (00.29 Moscow time). The authorities have not declared a tsunami threat.
