The Ministry of Energy is being asked to verify the validity of tariffs for gas equipment. Such an appeal was sent to the department by the head of the Just Russia — For Truth faction, Sergei Mironov, and the head of the Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Issues of public and religious associations, Yana Lantratova.

"In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in complaints from citizens about unjustified tariff increases and unsatisfactory quality of maintenance of domestic and residential gas equipment. Thus, in Bashkortostan, the increase in prices for servicing a four-burner stove amounted to 28.5% in 2023 (to 497.76 rubles), and in 2024 the tariff increased by 67% (to 831.72 rubles) while maintaining the same volume of work. A similar trend is observed in other regions: in Tatarstan, from 2021 to 2023, services rose in price by an average of 50%. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Construction records that more than 70% of the housing stock with gas systems is in borderline or unsatisfactory technical condition, which indicates a high level of equipment failure," the document says, which is available to Izvestia.

It also notes that the rising cost of maintenance services for domestic gas equipment has a significant negative impact on the financial situation of citizens, especially socially vulnerable categories of the population — pensioners, large families and low-income citizens.

According to the deputies, an increase in tariffs may lead to an increase in social tension and a decrease in confidence in the housing and communal services system. They noted that the problem of uncontrolled price increases requires an urgent systemic solution aimed at establishing fair pricing and effective quality control and ensuring transparency in the activities of organizations.

"We propose to consider the creation of a state—owned company or the granting of authority to a specialized organization that, under state control, will be engaged in centralized maintenance of gas equipment throughout the country," Mironov explained.

He noted that in recent years there has been a rapid increase in complaints from citizens about unjustified tariff increases and unsatisfactory quality of maintenance of gas equipment.

On July 1, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation announced that it would monitor changes in housing and communal services fees in all regions of Russia from July 1. The ministry noted that indexation is necessary to update the communal infrastructure of the housing and communal services complex, maintain its stable operation, and ensure the quality of public services for Russians.
