Social activist Kormukhin proposed making the Day of Love, Family and Fidelity a weekend in the Russian Federation

Andrey Kormukhin, coordinator of the organizing committee of the All-Russian Family Parade, chairman of the All-Russian social movement "Family", founding coordinator of the All-Russian social movement "Forty Sorokov", suggested making the Day of Love, Family and Fidelity, which is celebrated on July 8, a day off in Russia.

"I believe that July 8 should be a day off in our state. If we are really a civilization, a thousand-year-old Russia, then our state, first of all, should be about the family, and only then about individualism. I love women very much, and, of course, I understand the importance of March 8, but July 8 — as a Day of Family, Love and Fidelity — should become the same day off as March 8," he said on July 4 at a press conference dedicated to the holiday at the International Multimedia Center of the Russia Today Media Group.

He also recalled that the day before, during a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump, the topic of exchanging film products representing traditional family values was raised.

"We believe that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump should occupy the front rows of the Family Parade, and we are ready to provide them with such places," the activist added.
