Aliev announced the return of internally displaced Azerbaijanis to Karabakh

The internally displaced Azerbaijani residents returned to 16 settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. This was announced on July 4 by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during the 17th summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (ECO) in Khankendi.
"The Great Return program is being implemented. To date, we have ensured the return of former internally displaced persons to 16 cities and villages," the Qafqazinfo portal quotes him as saying.
According to Aliyev, more than 50,000 people currently live in the liberated territories. He also called for ensuring the rights of Azerbaijanis who were deported from Armenia.
The President added that efforts to ensure the initiative of returning people will continue. At the same time, the damage inflicted on Azerbaijan is estimated at $150 billion.
On June 17, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan stated that currently the risks of an armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan are minimal.
In April, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that the country was ready to open communications with Azerbaijan, regardless of the signing of a peace agreement. According to him, if Baku responds positively to Yerevan's proposal, then Armenia will start opening infrastructure even before the signing of the peace agreement.
