The secondary vocational education (SPE) system is under the jurisdiction of the regions, and therefore their budgets are annually replenished with funds for free education of children in the most sought-after specialties in the region. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said this on Friday, July 4.

The deputy recalled that in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Lipetsk region, an experiment is underway to enroll school graduates in colleges and technical schools. Such an admission procedure, if successfully tested, can cover all regions of Russia, Bessarab added.

The parliamentarian stressed that career guidance is of great importance, when students, starting from the sixth grade, visit enterprises and future employers. In such cases, a tripartite agreement is concluded between the employer, the student and the educational organization.

"According to the contract, the employer, as a rule, guarantees work and employment, which is mandatory after graduation. All summer internships and internships take place with this employer, moreover, they often pay additional social guarantees. This is, for example, an additional scholarship from an employer, a hostel or rental housing for nonresidents," Bessarab concluded in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

On June 30, Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, said that the number of applications from those wishing to enroll in colleges had increased in the capital, according to the website. kp.ru .

She noted that in the first days of the admission campaign, more than 25 thousand applications were received and processed, which is 10 times more than in the same period of 2024, RT reports.
