Russia is very closely following all the statements made by US President Donald Trump. This was stated on July 4 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the words of the American leader about his disappointment with negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Of course, we are very attentive to all statements made by President Trump," the Russian leader's spokesman said at a briefing.

Speaking about possible face-to-face talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Peskov noted that such a meeting is necessary, but serious preparation is required for this. He added that both Putin and Trump had declared their readiness for the meeting.

On the evening of July 3, Putin and Trump held telephone talks. During the conversation, the leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, including Iran and Syria, as well as the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian President informed his American counterpart about the implementation of humanitarian agreements between Moscow and Kiev and stressed Russia's desire to resolve the crisis through negotiations.

Trump later said that he had a long telephone conversation with the Russian president, during which they talked about the conflicts in Iran and Ukraine. The American leader noted that he was not satisfied with the situation around Ukraine, and said that the United States would continue to help Kiev.
