The Islamic Republic of Iran has opened its airspace, as well as restored the operation of most airports for domestic and international flights. This was announced on July 3 by the press service of the country's Civil Aviation Organization.

"Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports (are located in Tehran. — Ed.), as well as airports in the north, east, west and south of the country have resumed their work and are ready to provide air transportation services," the publication says.

According to the ministry, airports throughout the country, with the exception of those in Isfahan and Tabriz, will resume flights from 05:00 a.m. on July 4 to 18:00 p.m. local time (04:30 to 17:30 Moscow time).

It is noted that the relevant decision was made after security checks and interdepartmental interaction of representatives of civil aviation. The organization also clarified that the infrastructure at the airports in Isfahan and Tabriz is not yet ready for full-fledged operation. After the restoration, they will also start accepting flights.

The Mehr news agency reported on July 2 that Iran was closing its airspace to transit flights over the central and western territories of the country. Later, on July 3, the Russian airline Aeroflot cancelled flights from Moscow to Tehran, which were scheduled to resume on July 4.
