Trump called on the head of the US Federal Reserve, Powell, to resign immediately

On July 2, US President Donald Trump called on the head of the US Federal Reserve System, Jerome Powell, to resign immediately.

"Powell must resign immediately!" he wrote on his page on the Truth Social network, using the nickname he coined for the Fed chairman Too Late.

The head of the White House attached a Bloomberg article to his publication, which states that the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Bill Pulte, called for an investigation into Powell. The publication also noted that the presidential administration, trying to reorganize the Fed, increased pressure on the head of the department.

The agency also added that Powell, according to Pulte, at a senate meeting on the planned reconstruction of the Fed headquarters, gave false testimony that was "misleading," which, combined with his political bias, could lead to his removal for "good reason."
