The list of vehicles allowed for use by taxi companies after the entry into force of the law on taxi localization will be prepared in September. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov, RIA Novosti reports.

"I think that in the fall, we will try as early as possible, in September this order will be issued. We will not delay here, all the models are clear to us, all the localization plans are known," said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the government hour in the Federation Council. He recalled that this applies both to "our traditional manufacturers" and to those who have assumed high obligations and are fulfilling them.

According to Alikhanov, foreign automobile production facilities located in Russia should be encouraged to use Russian automotive electronics.

In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law setting requirements for the localization level of cars that can be purchased for taxis. The law will be effective from March 1, 2026. Localization requirements for taxi cars will not apply to vehicles registered in regional registries before this date. They will be able to carry passengers even after the law comes into force.
