A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Turkey


An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded near the town of Gemlik in the Turkish province of Bursa. The relevant information was published on the website of the Turkish Office of Emergency Situations and Natural Disasters (AFAD) on July 2.
It is specified that the seismic event occurred in the west of the country at approximately 13:58 local time (coincides with Moscow time). According to the organization, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Gemlik area, the source lay at a depth of 13 km.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikai, AFAD specialists have already begun to inspect the area.
"At the moment, there are no negative consequences," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded off the coast of Japan on July 1. It is specified that the seismic event occurred at 19:32 UTC (22:32 Moscow time) 99 km north of the village of Tatsugo (Kagoshima Prefecture), where at least 5.7 thousand people live.
