Employees of a medical institution in Primorye stole 46 million rubles on salaries

In Primorsky Krai, an investigation has been completed into a group of medical facility employees who have been receiving artificially inflated salaries for four years and who have received 46 million rubles from the state. This was announced on July 2 by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"The investigation of the criminal case on fraud has been completed. <...> It has been established that a 64-year-old resident of the Nadezhdinsky district developed a scheme for illegal enrichment and involved seven more employees of the institution in illegal activities. Unreasonably high wages were transferred to the bank accounts of the accomplices," the agency said in a statement.

It is clarified that after receiving the funds, representatives of this group withdrew money from accounts for partial appropriation and partial transfer to the chief accountant.

During the investigation, searches were conducted in the places where the hospital staff lived. All the equipment was seized from there, some of which were seized, as well as bank cards where funds were credited.

The department noted that the employees were dismissed from the hospital and are currently on their own recognizance. All of them became defendants in a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale"). Liability under this article implies the payment of a fine and imprisonment for up to 10 years. The materials of the criminal case were submitted to the court.
