The first day of July in Moscow became the coldest in more than 60 years. This was announced by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.

"As expected, July 1 became a very cold day in Moscow: the average air temperature was 6.1 degrees below the climatic norm," the forecaster said on the Telegram channel.

According to the expert, the maximum air temperature at the VDNKh weather station was +14 degrees. He noted that it had not been so cold on the first day of July since 1962. In addition, gusty winds and rains added to the discomfort.

Leus clarified that short-term precipitation is possible on Wednesday, July 2, but the temperature index will begin to rise and will soon approach +20 degrees.

Evgeny Tishkovets, a specialist at the Phobos Weather Center, reported on July 1 that two weather records were broken in Moscow on June 30 — the coldest day and the lowest atmospheric pressure in the entire history of observations.
