More than a million Russians have visited Thailand since the beginning of 2025, which is more than 12% higher than the same indicator last year. The press service of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported this on Tuesday, July 1, citing data from the Moscow office of the Tourism Administration of Thailand (TAT).
"In the first six months of 2025 (from January 1 to June 30), 1 million 34 thousand 759 Russian citizens visited Thailand. In annual terms, the tourist flow from the Russian Federation increased by 12.35% in the first six months of 2025, and in June alone, the number of Russians exceeded the values of June 2024 by 18.7%," the Moscow City News Agency quoted the message.
According to the expectations of tour operators, the Russian tourist flow to Thailand will continue to grow in the summer.
The day before, ATOR reported that Turkey became the most popular destination for Russian travelers in July this year — 35% of domestic tourists will go here.
Russian destinations are in second place (18.4% of tourists), Egypt closes the top three with 15.4%. Abkhazia, Vietnam, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, China and Cuba also entered the TOP 10.
At the same time, Turkey's share decreased from 67% to 62% over the year, while Egypt's share increased from 10% to 14%, according to the service. Travelata.ru and the insurance company Rosgosstrakh, reports RT.
Earlier, on May 19th, 360.ru I reported that Thailand took the first place in the top of popular holiday destinations among Russians in the first quarter of this year.
Izvestia wrote that among the Russian destinations where Russians most often book accommodation for the summer, Krasnodar Krai (19% of bookings), St. Petersburg (13%) and Altai Krai (10%) are in the lead. Foreign destinations are led by Turkey and Abkhazia (15% each), Thailand (11%), Belarus (9%), Italy (8%), China (7%) and Vietnam (5%).
