The top of the Eiffel Tower was closed to tourists due to the heat wave.

The Eiffel Tower administration has temporarily closed the upper level to visitors due to the heat wave in France. This was announced on July 1 on the official website of the Paris landmark.
"Due to the current abnormal heat, the Eiffel Tower is taking measures to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors and staff <...>. The summit is closed all day on July 1 and 2. <...> Visits to the 2nd and 1st floors are still possible," the statement said.
It is specified that information about the refund will be sent by e-mail to visitors who previously bought tickets to the summit.
The administration also warned about possible long queues and recommended that guests without tickets reschedule their visit. Visitors are advised to protect themselves from the sun and avoid dehydration — drinking fountains are available on the paths to the esplanade.
Bloomberg reported on June 30 that the heat wave that has hit Western European countries will reach its peak in the coming days. Such high temperatures can endanger the power grid and cause health emergencies.
