On June 30, two weather records were broken in Moscow — the coldest day and the lowest atmospheric pressure in the entire history of observations. This was announced on Monday by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.

According to him, the air temperature at the VDNKh weather station rose only to +12.6 degrees, which became a new minimum for this date. The previous records of +14.0 degrees in 1962 and +14.7 degrees in 1976 were broken, the website writes. kp.ru .

The forecaster also noted a sharp decrease in atmospheric pressure due to the proximity of the cyclone - the barometers recorded 728 mm of mercury, clarifies Life.ru . This is the lowest figure for June 30 in the last 45 years.

Also on June 30, Evgeny Tishkovets reported that almost 10% of the monthly precipitation rate, that is, 7 mm, fell in Moscow in a day. In the Moscow region, the most rains were recorded in Pavlovsky Posad — 11 mm, Dmitrov and Elektrostal — 10 mm, the Moscow City News agency reports.

On the same day, Cyclone Cornelius, which brought a sharp cold snap and heavy rains from the North Atlantic to Moscow, was photographed by the Russian weather satellites Electro-L and Arktika-M. Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo Forecasting Center, told 360.ru Precipitation in Moscow is expected to exceed the monthly norm, and atmospheric pressure will be the lowest since 1980. The cyclone will stop raging only at the end of the coming week.
