The Investigative Committee began checking after the attack on REN TV journalists in Moscow

A pre-investigation check has been launched into the attack on the journalists of the REN TV channel. This was announced on June 30 by the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that on June 26, 2025, the film crew carried out an editorial assignment in the building of a private cosmetology clinic located in Armory Lane in Moscow. At the same time, the staff of the medical institution prevented their professional activities.

The journalists of the TV channel were preparing a story about violations in the work of cosmetologists that can affect the health of patients. It turned out that the drugs used in the clinic were of questionable origin. After the film crew recorded everything on camera, the clinic staff used brute force.

"On this fact, the investigative department for the Tverskoy district of the Investigative Department for the Central Administrative District of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow has organized a pre—investigation check," follows from a message on the Telegram channel.

According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, a procedural decision will be made as a result of the inspections.

The perpetrator faces imprisonment for obstructing the work of the media.

Earlier, on May 16, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case in the Leningrad region against a 42-year-old man after threatening a former journalist of the 78 channel. It was clarified that the man began writing declarations of love to her after a long break in August 2024. After the married woman refused the stalker in a relationship, he began threatening to kill her daughter. In the fall of 2024, a journalist of the TV channel contacted the attacker in the fall of 2024, and he demanded to stop preparing a report and began threatening an employee of the channel and her daughter.

A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists, coupled with the threat of violence against a journalist and his family").
