Death toll from landslide in Colombia rises to 23


The number of victims of a landslide in the municipality of Belo in northwestern Colombia has reached 23 people. This was announced on June 28 by the El Tempo portal.
A landslide struck the Granizal district in the Bello municipality earlier this week, affecting part of the city of Medellin as well.
"According to the latest official report, 13 people remain missing <...>. The search for missing persons in Granizala continues. In an emergency situation, there may be many more missing people in Belo than reported," the publication clarified.
The authorities called on residents of areas located in the risk zone to observe security measures and, if necessary, evacuate.
On June 25, a landslide occurred in Colombia, killing 10 people. It was clarified that the incident occurred early in the morning in the municipality of Belo. Heavy rains caused the landslide.
